High-Schooler Agnes Evans is average. Agnes likes mainstream pop music, celebrities, and all the in-topics. Tilly, her sister, is a nerd. She likes Dungeons and Dragons, fantasy, and all the in between. The two have very little interest in each other, or what they like. But following the death of her family in a tragic accident, Agnes wishes she had gotten to know her sister better. While cleaning out her sister Tilly’s room, Agnes finds her sister’s handwritten DND manual–and traverses into the bigger-than-life universe her sister created. She Kills Monsters follows the journey of a girl and band of magical characters as they navigate grief, family, and identity.
