WHAT THE GALA MAKES POSSIBLE
Proceeds support our two projects for 2027:
Many Hands, Lasting Change. We are shipping surgical and medical equipment to four community hospitals and ten rural health centers serving more than 415,000 people in Bohol. Never fully repaired after natural disasters and still short of equipment, they are the first line of care for families living in poverty. Anyone needing more than basic care is sent to distant, overburdened referral centers that many cannot afford to reach, where delays too often mean suffering and preventable deaths. Upgrading these facilities brings that care close to home, at a fraction of the cost. Every $1 raised delivers more than $11 in biomedical supplies.
The Vela Neonatal Project. We are bringing newborn resuscitation kits and training to 20 remote island communities off Bohol, each too small to have a hospital. A newborn who isn't breathing has one minute, and the nearest hospital is an hour away by boat. Too many do not survive the crossing. Each community receives two kits: one for deliveries and the other for year-round training. With them, a local birth attendant can get a struggling newborn breathing, so many never need to leave the island, and those who do can survive the boat ride. Each kit costs $250, so $500 equips one community.
