About this event
In this workshop, we will learn the basics of visible mending: the art of repairing our clothing with contrasting colors and visible stitches to not conceal the rip or tear, but to add layers of story upon the garment while weaving it back together. This is a beginner friendly class - we will start with how to thread a needle, practice some basic stitches, and then have time to mend a garment we brought in to repair while chatting with community. The focus will be on mending denim and woven fabrics, though can discuss darning knitted garments as well. All materials provided- just bring something to mend!
