Learn To Identify New Target Lakes to fish in Maine!

Tuesday, November 17, 2026, Sea Dog Brewing, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Topsham,

6:00-8:00 pm

BRUNSWICK, ME, November 2026 – – Stan Pauwels, an active member of the MMBTU chapter,

chases salmon and trout on Maine lakes in winter, spring, summer and fall. Over the years, he

has visited 400+ lakes spread across the state to fish over open water or through the ice.

However, it can be a challenge to continuously identify new targets lakes to fish. Stan will

present an approach that uses 7 readily-available sources of information to help identify target

lakes, determine how to get on the water, what type of craft to use, what species to target,

where to place lures (in summer), and what activity level to expect. Merrymeeting Bay chapter

the watersheds on which they depend. Trout Unlimited is the nation’s oldest and

largest cold-water fisheries conservation organization dedicated to caring for and

recovering America’s rivers and streams so our children can experience the joy of wild

and native trout and salmon. Across the country, TU brings to bear local, regional, and

national grassroots organizing, durable partnerships, science-backed policy muscle,

and legal firepower on behalf of trout and salmon fisheries, healthy waters, and vibrant

communities. # # #
