Claire Loon-Baldwin: Exploring the Scientist’s Sketchbook a Dispatch from Northern Greenland

About this event

Grab a sketchbook and set out on foot into polar bear country! Join illustrator Claire Loon Baldwin as she shares a first-hand illustrated account of the intrepid scientists in Northeastern Greenland National Park. In this world without roads, polar bears and musk oxen roam wild under the midnight sun. These scientists have journeyed to the ends of the earth to study 2,000 climate data variables, and gain critical insight into the climate’s future. This free event will take place in the Portland Public Library’s Rines Auditorium, Thursday, November 19 from 5-7 PM.

This event is part of the programming for our exhibition Illustrasaurus, open until December 30. Don’t forget to check out the illustrated dinosaurs in the library’s Lewis Gallery 🦕🦖
