- ➤ New federal tax law changes are boosting refund checks for tipped workers this tax season+for instance, one Maine restaurant worker may see her refund jump from $1,200 to $2,700 as the law now permits deducting up to $25,000 in tip income from taxable earnings. WMTW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Greater Portland Metro is considering a fare increase from the $2 base ticket that has been in place since 2020 - public meetings to discuss the proposal are scheduled in April, starting with one on April 9 at the Portland public library. FOX23

- ➤ The St. Joseph’s College men's basketball team has won 10 straight games after overcoming early injuries, with local player Remijo Wani leading the turnaround.
