  • Residents in four Maine mobile home parks are taking steps to keep their homes affordable—neighbors in Monmouth formed a co-op to buy their park for $1.9 million while residents in Bowdoin, Standish and Brunswick push for rules to curb rising lot rents. They say these moves will help them avoid steep rent hikes from private investors.  Portland Press Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • MaineGeneral Healthcare will lay off 100 full-time employees next month—citing delayed MaineCare reimbursements as the reason for the move. The layoffs will affect workers at its Augusta and central Maine locations.  WGME

CRIME NEWS

  • Police arrested 23-year-old Dominick Morrison on charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal threatening after a shot was fired on St. John Street around 5 p.m. Friday and he was found at 171 Washburn Avenue about an hour later with evidence linking him to the shooting discovered in his home.  FOX23

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Maine Maple Sunday Weekend was busy as locals enjoyed a free chicken pot pie supper at Tuttle Road Community Church in Cumberland from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and the Spring Fling Slush Cup at Pleasant Mountain in Bridgton—while an all-you-can-eat brunch is offered today at Ferry Beach in Saco from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  WMTW

  • The UMaine Black Bears won the Hockey East Championship on Friday night by beating UConn at TD Garden, their first title since 2004—coach Ben Barr said the team worked hard and is now waiting for NCAA seeding today.  WMTW
