- ➤ South Portland Library is set to offer a series of therapeutic horticulture workshops that help older Mainers connect with nature and each other. - ➤ Mar Mar Noodle Company in Portland will receive a $30,000 EmpowHer grant from Boundless Futures Foundation today to support its female-founded business producing kelp noodles made from sustainably harvested seaweed (including sugar kelp and alaria). Founder Liz Kennedy said the grant includes mentorship and networking through an Advisory Circle. WMTW

- ➤ Maine author Bruce Coffin has been nominated for the Barry Award for his mystery novel Crimson Thaw and joined ARC Maine to discuss his nomination. FOX23
- ➤ Luncheonette, a cozy bistro on Cumberland Ave, earns four stars for its globally inspired menu featuring roasted sweet potato salad and tofu katsu sando. Chef-owners Angela Lee and Alex LeBlanc opened the restaurant in June and offer seasonal fare sourced from local growers plus a back patio for extra seating. Portland Press Herald

- ➤ The Maine DEP has approved a 61-acre expansion plan for Juniper Ridge landfill in Alton, which will add about 11.3 years of capacity if fully backed (conservation groups and the Penobscot Nation are now evaluating next steps). WGME

- ➤ Mary's Walk will be held on Sunday at Thornton Academy in Saco with registration at 10 a.m., opening at 11:30 a.m., and a two-mile walk starting at noon.
