ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, the ceiling at Longhorn Steakhouse near the Maine Mall collapsed during dinner service, and employees quickly evacuated roughly 150 patrons as police and fire crews arrived at 6:40 p.m.—the building is now being inspected by South Portland Code Enforcement.  WGAN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Maine Department of Education found an error in calculating tuition for independent schools dating back to 2016, which led to millions being underpaid by school districts. The mistake will force districts like RSU 12 to add extra funds to future budgets—raising the cost for taxpayers over the next two school years.  Portland Press Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Maine’s 18-year-old Cooper Flagg helped Duke earn its 18th Final Four appearance by scoring 16 points, grabbing nine rebounds and adding three assists in an 85-65 win over Alabama on Saturday. Duke will play in the Final Four game on Saturday, April 5 at the Alamodome — facing the winner of Sunday's Elite Eight contest between Houston and Tennessee.  WMTW
