- ➤ Food & Wine magazine announced that Mr. Tuna in Portland and Aragosta at Goose Cove in Deer Isle made the Global Tastemakers list for top culinary spots. Mr. Tuna is the only New England restaurant in the Top 15 U.S. Restaurants category while Aragosta appeared for the second time in the Top 10 U.S. Hotels for Food and Drink category. - ➤ Photographer Tom Bloom's Portland Works exhibit shows 36 black and white portraits of local workers on view at the Portland International Jetport until February 2026 — the project honors a range of jobs from construction to care services. - ➤ Parents and students at Saint Dominic Academy are fighting to keep its high school open after the Diocese announced its closure at the end of the school year due to high costs and declining enrollment. - ➤ Today, atmospheric scientist Katie Giannakopoulos at GMRI explained how warm water from the Gulf Stream and cool water from the Labrador Current mix with the air to shape weather in the Gulf of Maine. She noted that the North Atlantic Oscillation—a seesaw of pressure between Greenland and Portugal—shifts the jet stream and will lead to more inland rain from future storms as climate change continues.
