- ➤ As temperatures warm and spring blooms emerge, hummingbirds will begin arriving in Maine in the second half of April with numbers rising into early May. Residents can prepare by setting out feeders with a sugar-water mix (1:4 ratio) to attract the birds. FOX23

- ➤ Portland city officials announced Tuesday that the first phase of a $25 million dredging project is complete after 4,500 dump trucks of sediment were removed from the waterfront, restoring 10,000 ft of berthing for safe boat navigation — next winter, dredging will focus on local marinas. WMTW

- ➤ Maine recorded 7,703 drug overdoses in 2025, down from 10,483 in 2022, 9,654 in 2023, and 8,530 in 2024, according to a report (by the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center).
