- ➤ Portland police launched a new constable program to boost safety in downtown, parks and public spaces, hiring three paid officers trained by Marty Ney, who returned after retiring in 2022. - ➤ Fifteen local high school track athletes—including defending outdoor and indoor champions from Bonny Eagle, Falmouth and Deering—posted strong results in recent meets and will compete in the upcoming outdoor season to win more titles. Portland Press Herald
