- ➤ Maine lobstermen face higher operating costs this summer as fuel, trap, and bait prices continue to rise. Lobsterman Shane Carter said costs have remained steep since last summer (making work more challenging this season). WGME

- ➤ STRIVE Rocks, the biggest fundraiser of the year for STRIVE, began Friday at 8 p.m. to support its online program teaching cooking + budgeting, resume building, and independent living skills to young adults with disabilities statewide. FOX23
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Portland city officials gave preliminary support for an extra $1.5 million to finish the Riverton pool overhaul at Talbot Elementary School after three years of delays from structural issues (unexpected repairs extended the project). The pool will reopen in spring 2027 if funded. Portland Press Herald
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ MaineHealth will use a $2 million grant from the Maine Technology Institute to build the state’s first Clinical Research Unit, letting patients avoid trips to Boston for trials. The oncology-focused unit will offer both early- and late-phase trials and is set to open next year (in Biddeford). WMTW
- ➤ WMTW and Maine's Total Coverage partnered with Sweetser last Thursday night in Old Orchard Beach for the second annual Spring Into Hope Maine Fashion Show—raising funds for Maine's first youth residential psychiatric facility in Saco.
