- ➤ The annual Ride of Silence—honoring bicyclists, pedestrians and others killed on Maine roads—took place Wednesday night with the ride starting at 6:30 p.m. at CycleMania in Portland and continuing in Saco and Lewiston as organizers expected between 40 and 50 riders. WGME
- ➤ Several Maine towns will hold Memorial Day events on Monday with Biddeford hosting a ceremony at Waterhouse Field at 10 a.m. and Cape Elizabeth starting its parade at 8:30 a.m.—Topsham, Freeport, Lisbon Falls, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Westbrook, and Portland will also conduct parades and commemorations with planned route adjustments and brief street closures. - ➤ Casco Bay Lines announced that it will raise vehicle rates on Peaks Island starting June 21 due to uncertain federal funding — the increase varies by time of year and day of week, with noncommercial rates rising by about $10 to nearly $100 and pass holders paying between $46 and $82 — marking the first fare hike in over a decade.
