ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Strong winds and heavy rain from a late-season storm knocked out power for 8,096 customers by 8:00 a.m. Saturday — most outages occurred in York, Cumberland and Oxford counties, and Sebago fire officials advised residents to avoid downed wires and leaning trees.  WMTW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Casco Bay Lines plans to raise its peak season roundtrip fare from $14 to $16 effective June 20 (mid-April through mid-October), and the Maine Public Advocate has asked the Public Utilities Commission to investigate the hike amid rising costs and a $3 million deficit.  WGAN

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Portland Hearts of Pine rallied on Saturday evening, beating Spokane Velocity 2-1 at Fitzpatrick Stadium. Aboubacar Camara tied the game in the 62nd minute and JayTee Kamara secured the win in the 79th minute before a sold-out crowd cheered their comeback.  Portland Press Herald
