- ➤ The Cumberland Fair faces a scheduling conflict as Fryeburg Fair opens on Saturday, September 27—its busiest day—forcing 16 to 18 vendors to choose one fair over the other and reducing Cumberland’s revenue by 30%. WGME

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police responded at 6 a.m. to a report of a stabbing at Cumberland Avenue and Preble Street—where they found a 41-year-old unhoused man with a cut on his hand who was taken to Maine Medical Center—while they later arrested 37-year-old Christopher Hodgkins for elevated aggravated assault and for violating release conditions. - ➤ 21 cannabis samples taken from illegal grow houses in rural Maine were found to have dangerous levels of mold, heavy metals, pesticides and banned insecticides, with only three samples meeting state tests.
