- ➤ South Portland police reported that a significant water main break occurred on Main Street near Dairy Queen (located in Cash Corner) and flooded the road while delaying traffic, with drivers advised to use alternate routes (as the water district assesses the situation). FOX23

- ➤ The Westbrook Police Department said that a car was burglarized and two suspects, Jay Warren (37) and Carlyanne Jarrett (27), will be charged on Tuesday after officers responded to a burglary call where one suspect reportedly tried to hide in a backyard before both were taken to Cumberland County Jail. - ➤ The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village held a barn sale this weekend to raise funds for restoring its historic barn—organizers say the event brought them closer to finishing the three-year project. Antiques, donated goods, and estate sale finds were available inside the barn, which will eventually store about 50 tons of hay for the village’s 70 sheep and Scottish Highland cattle. WMTW

- ➤ Federal data shows that Maine’s foster care population grew 17% between 2019 and 2023, the fastest increase in the nation, and state officials say this rise followed high profile child deaths plus a lack of legal and support services. Recent state data also shows that after reaching a 20-year high last fall, the number of children in care has now begun to decline as more adoptions and reunifications take place. - ➤ Hundreds of cyclists completed the 180-mile trek across Maine on Sunday in the largest cycling fundraiser for the American Lung Association. The riders started at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, passed Bates College and St. Joseph's College in Standish & finished at Pineland Farms. WGME
