- ➤ Portland police responded Tuesday at around 12:49 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Mellen and Sherman Streets—where a 12-year-old riding an electric scooter the wrong way was struck by a 33-year-old driver—and he was transported with serious injuries to Maine Medical Center while the Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating. - ➤ A Portland family demanded an independent investigation after South Portland police mistakenly detained their 16-year-old son near Deering High School in May — police released him upon realizing the error. FOX23
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Maine Coast Heritage Trust is upgrading trails at Cousins River Fields and Marsh Preserve in Yarmouth to create over a mile of accessible paths with input from Outdoor Access Solutions—designed to help all visitors navigate the area.
