- ➤ Officials said two women died from severe burns after a camper exploded at Powder Horn Campground in Old Orchard Beach on Saturday—an explosion that began when an occupant lit a candle to ignite a gas leak, with the victims later dying at Maine Medical Center. Portland Press Herald

- ➤ ICE arrested Jon Luke Evans—an Old Orchard Beach reserve officer who had overstayed his visa—on Friday when he attempted to purchase a firearm for his job. Portland Press Herald
- ➤ A 22-year-old South Portland man was arrested Sunday night for stabbing a 37-year-old man near 35 Wharf Street at about 11:30 pm—he faces charges of Elevated Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of Cocaine, Trafficking in Prison Contraband and Falsifying Physical Evidence. WGAN

- ➤ The Maine DOT began installing traffic cameras at nine I-295 and I-95 exits yesterday to expand its live feed network for monitoring road conditions. Electric Light Inc. will install cameras at exits in Falmouth, Cumberland, Freeport, Augusta, Sidney, Waterville, and Fairfield — work set to finish by Oct. 30 and not used for speed enforcement.
