- ➤ Chief Matthew Clancy of Maine Capitol Police went on leave after he was arrested on Water Street in Hallowell around midnight Friday for allegedly assaulting a duty-bound officer while taking pictures inside the Quarry Tap Room—he faces charges for assault, disorderly conduct, and refusing to submit to arrest, posted $500 bail, and the case remains under investigation.
