About this event
This class is designed for women survivors of trauma, including those experiencing chronic pain. The focus of this class is to befriend our bodies through movement, breath, and self-awareness to help regulate the nervous system, manage stress, and cultivate a sense of calm and groundedness. We will explore sensations of comfort and ease and emphasize listening to our own body’s wisdom, needs, and boundaries in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. We believe in the healing power of community and connection. This class offers a supportive space for you to connect with fellow participants who share similar experiences and challenges. We will foster a sense of belonging and solidarity as we journey together towards healing and growth. No prior experience of yoga is required! All women are welcome. What to Expect— Participants can choose to be on a mat or in a chair depending on their level of comfort. Classes begin with breathing exercises and warm-up movements that are widely accessible for various levels of mobility Maria will guide participants through a program to stretch, strengthen, and balance their bodies. Each class will end with deep relaxation. This class will be held on the 3rd Wednesday every month from 7pm-8pm
