Learn the rich history of this 5000-year-old body art tradition. You will practice using henna cones, how to mix Henna and practice doing designs on yourself and others & receive a custom Design by Mary.

Mary Numme is the artist behind The Eye of Henna , where she has practiced the art of Mehndi for more than 30 years.

Mary uses henna as a form of artistic expression and empowerment, helping people connect with and celebrate their bodies. Her work includes henna adornment for pregnant mothers and brides, as well as henna crowns created with care and compassion for cancer patients.

Mary has been a Reiki Master Teacher since 2004 , incorporating energy work, intention, and healing into both her art and personal practice.

She is also a tattoo artist and the owner of 13 Moons , her private tattoo studio in Portland, Maine. Her vibrant murals can be found in yoga studios, private businesses, and public spaces throughout Maine and beyond.
