About this event
Experience the fun fringe-folksters of Americana, New York’s Slambovian Circus of Dreams in Arundel, ME, on Friday, November 13th. "The Cool End of Americana," Maverick Magazine, UK. Voted “Best Band” by NY’s Chronogram Magazine, see them at Vinegar Hill, the perfect stage for their surreal, cinematic, and high-energy live experience. The band's rootsy, rockin’ psychedelia, fantastic stories and songs are legendary, “They’re the kind of band you don’t just listen to – you become part of their universe.”- Karl Sharicz, Rock & Roll Underdogs (2025 Palmetto Publishing) Authentic Woodstock-tinged Americana blends a cool mix of southern rock, Celtic and British folk combined with critically acclaimed songwriting - a slice of 'Americana pie' that is fundamentally irresistible! “A perfect bridge between past and present, keeping the authenticity, storytelling, and countercultural mindset of the sixties alive while still making it their own.” - Rock & Roll Underdogs Influences of Dylan, Bowie, Syd Barrett, Tom Petty, and The Band are there, yet the Slambovians’ musicianship and critically acclaimed songwriting stand on their own. Joziah Longo (resident shaman of Slambovia), leads with vocals described as “soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic.” Longtime bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) and guitarist/ mandolin wizard Sharkey McEwen bring their own magic to the Slambovian brew with “a little help from their friends” – RJ McCarty (keys, bass, sax), Bob Torsello (bass), and Matthew Abourezk (drums).
