About this event
Learn the beautiful Japanese art of Kinusaiga , a fabric art technique that uses small pieces of fabric to create colorful, textured designs—no sewing required!
During the class, you’ll start with a pre-designed pattern and learn how to use simple tools to press and tuck fabric into the grooves of your design. You’ll learn how to choose and combine fabrics, work around curves and details, and build your design piece by piece. By the end of the class, you’ll have created your own unique Kinusaiga artwork to take home.

Heather Coombs is the maker behind Crafty Badass Stitch , a Maine-based fiber artist with a love for embroidery, color, and creating things by hand. With a background in graphic design and photography, Heather brings a strong love of color and visual storytelling to her work. She draws much of her inspiration from Maine—the landscapes, wildlife, coastlines, flowers, and the little things that make Maine home. Whether she's stitching, tucking fabric into a Kinusaiga design, or giving new life to an upcycled piece, Heather creates work that is colorful, playful, and meant to bring a little joy to its new home.
